In 1954 Herb Martin purchased a backhoe and a dump truck and founded the company that today is known as Greg Martin Excavating, Inc. Herb grew up in a farming family and transferred his knowledge of “working the land” to his newly founded business. As soon as Greg Martin was old enough to help with the work, he was involved in the business. After graduating from Wilmington College in 1974, Greg decided to enter into a partnership with his father. In 1986, he incorporated the business and it continues today under the name – Greg Martin Excavating, Inc.
Nothing equals years of experience in the excavating business – although Herb is no longer with us today he and Greg have over 8 decades of field experience together.
Through the years, Greg Martin Excavating, Inc. has built a variety of projects – ranging in scope from residential building projects, to shopping centers, to subdivision development. Each type of work has its own set of challenges and our years of experience in each of these areas makes our experience invaluable.
